Yosemite National Park
One of California’s most impressive natural attractions is Yosemite National Park, which features over 1,200 square miles of spectacular scenery. It features various biological features such as giant waterfalls, cliffs, and ancient sequoia trees. Despite its size, most of the park’s tourist activities are concentrated around Yosemite Valley. The park’s most famous landmarks are El Capitan and Half Dome. There are also numerous hiking trails within the park.
Yellowstone National Park
Situated in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, Yellowstone National Park is easily accessible from multiple areas in three states: Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho. This massive national park offers numerous natural attractions, including its various lakes, mountains, hot springs, and buffalo-filled valleys. To avoid the crowds, plan on visiting the park in April, May, or October.
Glacier National Park
The mountains and water of Glacier National Park define its location. This national park spans two mountain ranges and features over 700 lakes in Montana. Take advantage of the park’s numerous hiking trails, such as the Iceberg Lake and the Trail of the Cedars. It also hosts free ranger-led activities, such as stargazing events.
Zion National Park
Thrill seekers will find plenty to like in Zion National Park, Utah. One of its most popular hiking trails is Angels Landing, which offers a view of over 1,500 feet of natural stairs. Another popular route is The Narrows, a 10-mile hike through the park’s thinnest section. If you’re not interested in hiking in the park, take a short drive to the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive. This route takes you past various famous landmarks.
Bryce Canyon National Park
Situated in southern Utah, the park known as the Bryce Canyon is home to the world’s most extensive collection of hoodoos. It offers various hiking trails that allow visitors to see the impressive red rock formations. It also hosts guided horseback riding tours. Although the park is most popular during the summer season, its stark white landscape and the vibrant orange-red rocks of the canyon are regarded as some of the park’s most memorable moments.
